Ramona J. Gaeta

January 20, 1934 - February 23, 2022

Ramona J. Gaeta, 88 of Eastland, went to her heavenly home on February 23, 2022. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Eastland with burial following in the Eastland City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland, Tx. On January 20, 1934, Ramona Jimenez was the first born of Julio and Micaela Jimenez in Forney, Texas. She married Ruben R. Gaeta, Sr. on September 8, 1950 in Stanton, Texas. Ruben and Ramona shared 68 years of marriage before his death in 2018, and were blessed with three sons and a daughter; Ruben Jr., Robert Lee, Terry, and Patricia. Ramona was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was part of the ladies Alter Society for numerous years. She retired from Hollywood Vassarette and then became a cafeteria cook at Siebert Elementary School in Eastland before opening and operating Ramona’s Mexican Restaurant, which operated for over 20 years. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Micaela Jimenez; husband, Ruben Gaeta, Sr.; sons, Robert Lee and Terry Gaeta; sisters, Cecilia Curiel, Coca Jimenez, Mary Jimenez, and Frances Rodriguez; brother-and sisters-in-law: Gene Gaeta, Victor Gaeta (Tomasa), Burnie Gaeta (Janet), Gil Gaeta (Mollie), Al Gaeta (Susie), Martin Ortiz (Erlinda Gaeta Ortiz), Tony Curiel, Manuel Ochoa, and Neida Jimenez. She is survived by: son, Ruben Gaeta, Jr. (Mary Lynn); daughter Patricia Cannon (Tim); granddaughters, Sky Sukam (Alain), and Madison Cannon; brothers, Everisto Jimenez, Jimmy Jimenez (Rene), Julio Jimenez (Gilma), Phillip Jimenez, Alex Jimenez (Maryellen), and John Jimenez; sisters: Rosie Ochoa, Maggie Jimenez, and Jessie Jimenez; and several generations of beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Alain Sukam, Al Gaeta, Jr., Arthur Gaeta, Gary Hall, Leo Gaeta, and Steve Gaeta. Honorary Pallbearers: Everisto, Julio, Jimmy, Phillip, Alex, and John Jimenez.
