Betty Lois Tibbels

December 26, 1940 - April 6, 2022

Betty Lois (Napier) Tibbels of Ranger, passed away April 6, 2022. Betty was born on December 26 1940, in Lone Pine, California to R.L. and Ruth (Hall) Napier. Betty shared her birth year with her older sister Norma Jean who was born February 4th. She attended school in Olden, TX where she played tennis and basketball. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ranger on Monday, with burial to follow at Bullock Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at Edwards Funeral Home Sunday 3-5 p.m. The three "Napier Girls" Norma, Betty and Verna remained extremely close their entire lives and missed each other greatly at each other’s passing. Some of Betty's favorite childhood memories include jumping on the bed with her sisters, working on their Aunt Maybel's vegetable farm with her family and playing sports. She married the love of her life Charles "Toad" Tibbels August 17, 1963. They were married on Toad's birthday so that he would not forget their anniversary. They were happily married until his passing in 2016 just months before their 53rd anniversary. Betty was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed the cattle they raised but always admitted her head chute skills were not the best. In her last hours she was dreaming of gathering cattle in the lot, always fond memories for her. Betty was preceded in death by her father R.L., and mother Ruth Napier; husband Charles Tibbels; sisters Norma Jacoby and Verna Gailey. She is survived by her children, Sherman Tibbels, Lesley Boelter and husband Allen; grandchildren Carolina and Jacob Boelter.
